Why name your dog after a cookie?
Many dogs have the coloring of a cookie so it makes sense to match them up with their cookie twin. Many pet owners don’t want a human name like Mike but something fun and unique. Maybe you enjoy baking and you are a cookie monster.
In a previous life, my call sign was “cookie monster”. One night out on deployment, our Commanding Officer (CO) rang my room and explained that everyone needed to come down to the cafeteria for Oreos. It seemed odd to me, but you don’t exactly go against what your CO is asking you to do. I went down and he explained that each month his wife sent Oreo packages to the ship for his officers. It was a way for us to all bond.
Well, I loved cookies. So I ate an entire row of Oreos. I mean I was stuck on a ship in the middle of the ocean, so I then proceeded to eat my second row. I didn’t think anything of it, I was used to having a sweet tooth. But after that night, the group decided my call sign would be “cookie monster”. Maybe my next dog should be named Oreo!
Summary
The name you choose should match your dog’s personality if possible. This will make it more fun as they grow and you find them acting sweet like cocoa or maybe a little sticky like honey. Pet names are important and also very fun to pick out when you bring a new puppy home.
Giving your dog a cookie name can be unique and fun. But, ultimately your dog’s name is up to you! You can choose a more traditional dog name such as Max, Cooper, and of course Wes! Let’s not forget our popular female dog names like Bella, Lucy, and Daisy.
Whatever you decide on your dog’s name, it will be perfect.
